A Dive Into College Life

"College life is the ultimate adventure," a friend once said and I couldn't agree more. Looking back on our discussion, I'm reminded of the big decision I made to leave my hometown and move to the bustling city of Bengaluru. Throughout those three years, everyday felt like a new chapter, filled with unforgettable adventures and experiences. While classes undoubtedly played their part, but it's the moments outside those four walls that have truly shaped who I am. Whether it was joining clubs or committees or exploring anything beyond classes, college has offered endless opportunities for personal growth and self-discovery. So, for those of you gearing up for their college journey in another city, here are a few words of wisdom from my own experience:

At the outset, it's natural to feel homesick and have a sense of being out of place. However, as days start turning into weeks and weeks into months, you gradually find your kind of people and start to settle into your new surroundings. Building meaningful connections takes time, but the friends you make along the way become the cornerstone of your college journey.

As you get adjusted to this phase of life, you’d come across the daunting phase of assessments and exams. Group study sessions, all-nighters; one night before the exam and impromptu Maggi sessions become the norm during this period. It's crucial to savour these moments too, as exams are an integral part of the academic journey.

While academics are important, it's equally essential to explore the city you now call ‘home’. Personally, getting to know the local culture and attending city events added depth and richness to my college experience. While college fests and events are exciting, discovering the hidden gems of your new city adds an extra layer of excitement to your college days.

Eventually, the placement season steps in, signalling the transition to a more serious phase. It's during this time that you put your acquired knowledge to test, showcasing your technical skills and personality to potential employers.

And as the time comes to bid farewell to friends and college, you embark on the next chapter of your another journey: your job, business or further studies. But amidst the challenges and triumphs, every experience contributes to your growth and development.

College life extends far beyond what's been mentioned here, but now is your time to fully embrace the journey, seize every opportunity and make the most of your college adventure. Remember, the best is yet to come!
